Custom Magnets: Buying Guide

Custom magnets are printed direct with UV inks on a 30 mil matte magnet sheet, which gives a long lasting graphic that is waterproof and UV safe. They are best known as car door signs, and also work as temporary signs on steel doors, trailers and job site equipment.

Order any size up to 24" high by 60" wide, with square or rounded corners. Magnets only hold to steel: some newer car doors are plastic or aluminum, so check the spot first. Let a new magnet sit on the vehicle overnight before driving so it bonds fully.

Popular uses

  • Car, truck and van door signs
  • Contractor and service vehicle branding
  • Signs on steel doors and job site trailers

Artwork & file setup

  • Upload a JPEG or a single-page PDF, up to 300 MB, built at the exact size you order. Artwork at a different size is scaled to fit.

  • Leave off crop marks and bleed. Double sided items take one file per side unless the template says otherwise.

Care & handling

Put the magnet on a clean, dry, flat steel surface, never over fresh paint. Take it off about once a week to clean and dry both the magnet and the vehicle underneath, and store it flat. Remove it before automatic car washes.

Custom Magnets questions & answers

Will it stick to my car?

Only to steel. Test the spot with a fridge magnet before you order. For non-magnetic surfaces, an adhesive vinyl decal is the better choice.

Can I drive right after putting it on?

Let it sit overnight first. A magnet that hasn't bonded to the vehicle may come off at speed.

What is the largest size?

Up to 24" high by 60" wide.

Do rounded corners cost extra?

No. Square and rounded corners are the same price.

What if my vehicle door isn’t magnetic?

Some newer doors are plastic or aluminum, so magnets won’t hold. For those, a printed removable adhesive vinyl decal is a good alternative.

When will my order ship?

Order and approve your artwork by 12 pm Pacific time and it ships the same business day. By 4 pm, it ships the next business day; after 4 pm, allow one more business day. Then it travels by the shipping speed you choose at checkout.
