13oz Vinyl Banner: Buying Guide

A 13oz vinyl banner is the everyday workhorse of business advertising: strong, affordable and ready for indoor or outdoor use. It is printed with UV inks on matte scrim vinyl, which has woven fibers inside that resist tearing, and the matte surface keeps sun glare off your message so it reads clearly from the street.

Every banner is cut to the size you enter. Hems are free, and you can add grommets, pole pockets, Velcro, webbing with D-rings, sewn-in rope or reinforced corners. Single piece banners go up to 10' x 145' (9.5' x 145' with pole pockets); larger banners are welded together. Banners 89" or larger on their shortest side ship folded, smaller ones ship rolled.

  • Order and approve your artwork by 12 pm Pacific time and it ships the same business day. By 4 pm, it ships the next business day; after 4 pm, allow one more business day. Orders of more than 100 pieces need two extra business days.

  • At checkout, choose standard shipping (3–6 business days) from $18, 3-day, 2-day or overnight delivery. Orders of $100 or more ship free on the standard schedule.

Artwork & file setup

  • Upload a JPEG or a single-page PDF, up to 300 MB, built at the exact size you order. Artwork at a different size is scaled to fit.
  • Use CMYK color, convert Pantone and spot colors to CMYK, and outline your fonts. Raster images need 150 dpi at full size.
  • Leave off crop marks and bleed. Double sided items take one file per side unless the template says otherwise.

Care & handling

Clean the print with mild soap, water and a soft cloth, and skip solvents and pressure washers. Let the banner dry fully before you store it, then roll it with the printed side facing out and keep it somewhere dry. Using every grommet when you hang it spreads the load and helps prevent tears.

13oz Vinyl Banner questions & answers

Should I choose 13oz or 18oz vinyl?

Choose 13oz for most single sided banners. Choose the 18oz blockout banner when both sides will be seen or the banner hangs in front of a window or light, because its blockout layer stops one side showing through the other.

Can a 13oz banner go outside?

Yes. It is waterproof and UV safe. On open fences or building sides where wind is strong, a mesh banner is the better choice because wind passes through it.

Do I need grommets?

Hems are free and grommets are optional. Add grommets to tie or hook the banner up, or pole pockets to slide it onto a pole.

What size pole fits the pole pocket?

A 2" pole pocket fits a pole up to 1" in diameter, a 3" pocket fits up to 1.5", and a 4" pocket fits up to 2".

What finishing should a street or long-term banner have?

Add webbing with D-rings and reinforced corners, and use every grommet when you hang it. That spreads the load and keeps the banner from tearing in wind.
