Backlit Banner: Buying Guide

A backlit banner is made for light boxes. It is UV printed on 15oz backlit vinyl, a translucent banner material that lets light pass through the print, so your graphic glows when the box is lit instead of looking flat.

Choose a day time or night time color profile for when the banner is seen most, and enter any size up to 120" x 150'. It is single sided, with free hemming and grommets and optional pole pockets or webbing with D-rings for mounting in large frames.

  • Order and approve your artwork by 12 pm Pacific time and it ships the same business day. By 4 pm, it ships the next business day; after 4 pm, allow one more business day. Orders of more than 100 pieces need two extra business days.
  • Printed to order in Renton, Washington, and shipped to all 50 states.
  • At checkout, choose standard shipping (3–6 business days) from $18, 3-day, 2-day or overnight delivery. Orders of $100 or more ship free on the standard schedule.

Artwork & file setup

  • Upload a JPEG or a single-page PDF, up to 300 MB, built at the exact size you order. Artwork at a different size is scaled to fit.
  • Use CMYK color, convert Pantone and spot colors to CMYK, and outline your fonts. Raster images need 150 dpi at full size.
  • Leave off crop marks and bleed. Double sided items take one file per side unless the template says otherwise.

Care & handling

Clean the print with mild soap, water and a soft cloth, and skip solvents and pressure washers. Let the banner dry fully before you store it, then roll it with the printed side facing out and keep it somewhere dry. Using every grommet when you hang it spreads the load and helps prevent tears.

Which color profile should I pick?

Pick the profile for when the banner is seen most: the night time profile is set up to look right with the light box on, the day time profile for viewing in daylight.

What is the difference between a backlit banner and backlit film?

The backlit banner is flexible 15oz vinyl for large light boxes, up to 120" x 150'. Backlit film is a 10 mil translucent film for smaller lit displays such as menu boards and poster light boxes, up to 59" high.

Can it be double sided?

No, backlit banners are single sided.

How do I mount it in a large frame?

Hems and grommets are free. For tension frames and large light boxes, add pole pockets or 1" nylon webbing with silver D-rings.

When will my order ship?

Order and approve your artwork by 12 pm Pacific time and it ships the same business day. By 4 pm, it ships the next business day; after 4 pm, allow one more business day. Then it travels by the shipping speed you choose at checkout.
