Blockout Fabric Banner: Buying Guide

Blockout fabric banners are dye sublimated on 9.5oz, 3-ply polyester: white on the front and back with a blockout layer in between. The low sheen surface stops camera flash and glare, which makes it a favorite for photo backdrops, and the blockout layer keeps lights behind the banner from showing through your graphic.

Fabric gives a softer, more upscale look than vinyl. Order any size up to 8' x 150', single sided. Hems are free in white or black thread to match your design, and grommets, pole pockets, sewn-on Velcro or flush heat-cut edges are available.

  • Order and approve your artwork by 4 pm Pacific time and it ships the next business day; after 4 pm, allow one more business day. Orders of more than 100 pieces need two extra business days.
  • Printed to order in Renton, Washington, and shipped to all 50 states.
  • At checkout, choose standard shipping (3–6 business days) from $18, 3-day, 2-day or overnight delivery. Orders of $100 or more ship free on the standard schedule.

Artwork & file setup

  • Upload a JPEG or a single-page PDF, up to 300 MB, built at the exact size you order. Artwork at a different size is scaled to fit.
  • Use CMYK color, convert Pantone and spot colors to CMYK, and outline your fonts. Raster images need 150 dpi at full size.
  • Leave off crop marks and bleed. Double sided items take one file per side unless the template says otherwise.

Care & handling

The polyester fabric can be machine washed in cold water on a gentle cycle. Lay it flat or hang it to dry, and remove wrinkles with a hand steamer. Do not bleach, tumble dry or iron it.

Why choose blockout fabric?

The blockout layer stops light behind the banner from shining through, so colors stay even in front of windows, stage lights or a bright wall.

Can it be double sided or oversized?

No. Blockout fabric banners are single sided, up to 8' x 150', and are not welded into oversized pieces.

Fabric or vinyl?

Fabric photographs without glare and looks more polished up close. Vinyl banners are tougher outdoors and can be welded into larger sizes.

Does the optional Velcro include both sides?

Yes. The loop side is sewn onto the banner, and the hook side comes as an adhesive strip you stick to your wall or frame.

What size pole fits the pole pocket?

A 2" pole pocket fits a pole up to 1" in diameter, and a 3" pocket fits up to 1.5".

When will my order ship?

Order and approve your artwork by 4 pm Pacific time and it ships the next business day; after 4 pm, allow one more business day. Then it travels by the shipping speed you choose at checkout.
