Foam Board Signs: Buying Guide

Foam board is the lightest rigid sign we print: a 3/16" white foamcore panel with your design UV printed directly on the surface. It stays flat, looks sharp up close and is easy to carry, which is why it is the go-to choice for presentations and indoor displays.

Foam board is for indoor use only and is not waterproof. Sizes run up to 48" x 96", single or double sided; anything over 46" x 38" (or 48" x 30") is too big to ship by parcel, so call 866-436-2101 before ordering one. For signs that go outside, choose coroplast or PVC board.

Production & shipping

  • Order and approve your artwork by 12 pm Pacific time and it ships the same business day. By 4 pm, it ships the next business day; after 4 pm, allow one more business day. Orders of more than 100 pieces need two extra business days.
  • Printed to order in Renton, Washington, and shipped to all 50 states.
  • At checkout, choose standard shipping (3–6 business days) from $18, 3-day, 2-day or overnight delivery. Orders of $100 or more ship free on the standard schedule.
  • Pickup isn’t available; every order ships to you. See shipping & returns for details.

Artwork & file setup

  • Upload a JPEG or a single-page PDF, up to 300 MB, built at the exact size you order. Artwork at a different size is scaled to fit.
  • Use CMYK color, convert Pantone and spot colors to CMYK, and outline your fonts. Raster images need 150 dpi at full size.
  • Leave off crop marks and bleed. Double sided items take one file per side unless the template says otherwise.

Care & handling

Foam board is for indoor use only. Keep it dry, dust it with a dry cloth, and carry it by the edges so the faces don’t dent.

Can foam board be used outdoors?

No. Foamcore is not waterproof and will warp in rain or humidity. Use coroplast or PVC board outdoors.

Will it stand on an easel?

Yes. At 3/16" thick it is rigid enough to stand on a standard easel at poster sizes such as 18" x 24" or 24" x 36".

What is the largest size?

Up to 48" x 96". Boards over 46" x 38" or 48" x 30" are too big to ship by parcel, so call 866-436-2101 before ordering one.

When will my order ship?

Order and approve your artwork by 12 pm Pacific time and it ships the same business day. By 4 pm, it ships the next business day; after 4 pm, allow one more business day. Then it travels by the shipping speed you choose at checkout.
