GatorFoam Signs: Buying Guide

GatorFoam is an extruded polystyrene foam board, like foamcore, but faced with a melamine and wood fiber veneer. That makes it far more rigid: the surface won't easily dent and the board doesn't warp or bow, so large prints stay flat and look professional.

Choose 3/16" or 1/2" thickness in white or black. Your design is UV printed on adhesive vinyl and mounted, single or double sided, up to 48" x 96". GatorFoam is for indoor use only. Sizes over 46" x 38" (or 48" x 30") are too big to ship by parcel, so call 866-436-2101 before ordering one.

  • Order and approve your artwork by 12 pm Pacific time and it ships the same business day. By 4 pm, it ships the next business day; after 4 pm, allow one more business day. Orders of more than 100 pieces need two extra business days.

  • At checkout, choose standard shipping (3–6 business days) from $18, 3-day, 2-day or overnight delivery. Orders of $100 or more ship free on the standard schedule.

Artwork & file setup

  • Upload a JPEG or a single-page PDF, up to 300 MB, built at the exact size you order. Artwork at a different size is scaled to fit.
  • Use CMYK color, convert Pantone and spot colors to CMYK, and outline your fonts. Raster images need 150 dpi at full size.
  • Leave off crop marks and bleed. Double sided items take one file per side unless the template says otherwise.

GatorFoam or foam board?

Foam board is lighter and cheaper for short term use. GatorFoam's wood fiber faces resist dents and warping, so it is the better choice for large or long term displays.

Can it go outside?

No, GatorFoam is not waterproof. For outdoor signs, choose PVC board, coroplast or aluminum.

What thickness should I choose?

3/16" works for most signs and frames; 1/2" is stiffer for very large boards and free standing displays.

When will my order ship?

Order and approve your artwork by 12 pm Pacific time and it ships the same business day. By 4 pm, it ships the next business day; after 4 pm, allow one more business day. Then it travels by the shipping speed you choose at checkout.
