Reflective Car Magnet: Buying Guide

A reflective car magnet turns any steel door or tailgate into an advertisement that works day and night. The graphic is UV printed onto 4 mil reflective vinyl and laminated to a 30 mil magnet, so your name and phone number light up in other drivers’ headlights.

Magnets go on and come off in seconds, so a personal vehicle can double as a work vehicle, and you can move signs between trucks or onto a metal job site trailer. They are waterproof and UV safe, up to 24" high by 60" wide.

Artwork & file setup

  • Upload a JPEG or a single-page PDF, up to 300 MB, built at the exact size you order. Artwork at a different size is scaled to fit.
  • Use CMYK color, convert Pantone and spot colors to CMYK, and outline your fonts. Raster images need 150 dpi at full size.
  • Leave off crop marks and bleed. Double sided items take one file per side unless the template says otherwise.

Care & handling

Put the magnet on a clean, dry, flat steel surface, never over fresh paint. Take it off about once a week to clean and dry both the magnet and the vehicle underneath, and store it flat. Remove it before automatic car washes.

Will it stick to my car?

Only on steel surfaces. Some newer doors and tailgates are plastic, aluminum or fiberglass. Test the spot with a fridge magnet before you order.

What is the largest size?

Up to 24" high by 60" wide. Most vehicle doors fit a 12" x 18" to 18" x 24" magnet; measure the flat area between door handles and trim.

Is it different from a regular car magnet?

It uses the same 30 mil magnet, with reflective vinyl so it can be read at night. Regular car magnets cost less if night visibility doesn’t matter.

Do rounded corners cost extra?

No. Square and rounded corners are the same price.

What if I need one larger than 24" x 60"?

That is the largest single magnet. For a bigger graphic, split the artwork across two magnets that line up side by side.

When will my order ship?

Order and approve your artwork by 12 pm Pacific time and it ships the same business day. By 4 pm, it ships the next business day; after 4 pm, allow one more business day. Then it travels by the shipping speed you choose at checkout.
