Custom Pole Flag: Buying Guide

A custom pole flag is a big rectangle of full color branding on a tall pole set. Choose Small (8.5 ft assembled, 31" x 90.5" graphic), Medium (11.8 ft, 31" x 114") or Large (15 ft, 31" x 151.5"). The rectangle shape is the easiest flag to design for, so logos and text stay readable.

Flags are dye sublimated on 4 oz polyester mesh. A single sided flag is printed through, so the back shows a lighter, mirrored but readable image; choose the reverse version to put the pole sleeve on the right. Double sided flags are two prints sewn back to back with a silver block out layer, so both sides read correctly. The brushed aluminum and graphite poles interlock with no tools. The aluminum ground stake (3.6 lbs, with a ball bearing so the flag turns with the wind) goes into grass, sand or soil. For concrete, asphalt or indoor floors, choose the 6.73 lb aluminum cross base, add the water bag for extra weight, or use the 21.83 lb steel square base.

Artwork & file setup

  • Upload a JPEG or a single-page PDF, up to 300 MB, built at the exact size you order. Artwork at a different size is scaled to fit.
  • Use CMYK color, convert Pantone and spot colors to CMYK, and outline your fonts. Raster images need 150 dpi at full size.
  • Leave off crop marks and bleed. Double sided items take one file per side unless the template says otherwise.
  • When you use a template below, keep its artboard size and guidelines, design on the “Artwork” layer, and delete guide layers when it tells you to.

Care & handling

Take the flag down in storms and very high wind. The polyester flag can be machine washed in cold water on a gentle cycle and hung to dry; do not bleach, tumble dry or iron it. Store poles and flag dry, in the carry bag if you have one.

Which size should I choose?

Small (8.5 ft) suits indoor and tight spaces, Medium (11.8 ft) is the all-round size, and Large (15 ft) gives the most visibility from the road.

Is the flag washable?

Yes, the 4 oz polyester mesh is washable.

Which base do I need?

Ground stake for soft ground; cross base (with optional water bag) or steel square base for hard surfaces and indoors.

How do I put the flag up?

Position the base or ground stake, connect the pole sections (they interlock with no tools), slide the flag sleeve onto the pole, then secure the flag down the pole so it stays tight.

When will my order ship?
